Kanisha L. Meaders is a Nurse Practitioner and the Director of Jackson Hinds School-Based Clinics at Jackson Hinds Comprehensive Health Center. She has worked as a family nurse practitioner for over 12 years, providing care to patients and families of all ages.

Dr. Meaders began her college career at Mississippi State University studying biology (pre-nursing). Upon acceptance into the nursing program, she transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) School of Nursing in Jackson, MS. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from UMMC School of Nursing in 2002. She worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the UMMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) from 2002-2006. During that time, she returned to school to obtain a Masters of Science Degree in Nursing to become a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2006. She earned her terminal degree (Doctor of Nursing Practice) from UMMC School of Nursing also. She is looking forward to being a leader in healthcare.
 

In addition to being the Department Head for the 10 standing school-based clinics and 10 additional schools serviced by the mobile unit, she is the primary provider at the school-based clinic in Terry High School.

Mrs. Okshoon Scott, MSN, FNP-C is the Nurse Practitioner for Bolton Edwards Schools. She has 18 years of nursing experience and 2 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in the Family Nurse Practitioner track from the University of Southern Mississippi.

 

She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women.

American Association of Nurse Practitioners

Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners

Mississippi Nurses Association

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Candance Childress is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the Mississippi Board of Nursing. She originally attended Mississippi University for Women, in Columbus, Mississippi, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

 

Candance then further pursued her interest in nursing, graduating with from Alcorn State University with a Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process.

Candance is an active member of several professional organizations including the Mississippi Board of Nursing, Mississippi Nurse Practitioner Association and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.

Mrs. Kathryn Alexander has been in the medical field for over 13 years. She attended Jackson State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She later attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center, School of Nursing where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

 

She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at St. Dominic's Hospital for a few years. She then returned to the University of Mississippi Medical Center to pursue a Master of Science degree in nursing, focusing on the Family Nurse Practitioner track.

Mrs. Alexander has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for over eight years and has worked in pediatrics, primary care and hematology/oncology.

She is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association, Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
